Victorian Door Knobs - Ebonised Beehive - Brass (pair)

Wow, these are absolutely gorgeous - just what I needed to complement other design features in my house.

Needed to replace 9 pairs of vintage brass door lever handles with knobs. Found these beehive style knobs which are a great replacement. Quality is good, reasonable price, fast delivery within 24 hours. Very pleased with product and delivery.

I’m very pleased with the door bobs they are quite beautiful and perfect for the renovation of my old house. They are heavy compared to cheap nobs that can be bought locally and have a lovely feel to them. They will finish the rooms off great. A perfect choice.

The handles are perfect for our victorian farm house. They are a welcome replacement for handles which were really quite broken. We have found them to be really stiff which means we are building up strong turning muscles but we think that is because we need new spindles as well.

These look perfect on the lounge door after I’d cleaned and waxed it. They replaced some old 1980’s door furniture 🤗

I bought this large version for the inner front door. I've never got excited about a door knob before, but this is wonderful and brings a smile to my face whenever I use it! It looks magnificent, feels unshakeably solid, works perfectly. This is a serious bit of furniture and the instructions (supplied in an email) are thoroughly helpful.

Nice Quality door knobs with everything supplied to fit them. They are quite large so just be sure to place them far enough away from the edge of the dooor.

Currently renovating an old farmhouse and started the search for door knobs online. Needless to say there we’re a lot to choose from. Really liked the clear pictures and information from this site. I purchased a number of these Victorian style ebonised door knobs having moved in to an former vicarage in Wales where many of the doors still had the original door furniture. These products were not only a near perfect match with the originals, but they matched on quality too. As such we’ve been able to replace all of the more recent plastic additions and have the doors back to their original aesthetic. We used these throughout our Victorian home as part of a refurbishment. We have lovely original paneled doors and wanted door knobs that would do them justice, we are more than happy with the look and function of these. They were a little stiff, as not self-sprung, so took some patience to get them all working properly with the existing mechanisms. Would recommend.

Beautiful knobs. Smooth ordering and delivery. They were out of stock when I initially saw them but left my email and received notification when they were back in stock which was great. One issue I had was instructions were a bit limited for a novice DIYer like me. Had to watch some YouTube videos just to work out how to separate them (now know all about grub screws). Bit more detailed info would have been helpful however once I’d worked that out really easy to fit.

2nd time I've got products from these folks and as pleased second time round as the first. Shame the screws were black and not brass but gather issues with supplier.

We ordered one set. So impressed with the quality and appearance, which fitted our Edwardian house to a T, that we ordered knobs for all our doors.

I purchased 2 pairs of these in combination with 3 pairs of the brass beehive ones. Carelessly I hadn't realised that they are actually a different size to each other. As a result, I am going to move them around having fitted the larger beehive ones on bedroom doors and the brass ones on other doors.

A bit of a faff to fit but it is worth it. The guidance suggests drilling guide holes into the door for the screws and this I would say is essential; I struggled to do it without doing so (I don't have a drill) and the supplied screws are not very strong and are easily damaged / decapitated if not...... .

All of that said, they certainly achieved the desired effect; a simple (easy!) change to make which nonetheless makes a huge difference to the 'feel' of a home.

I love these door knobs- they look very smart and look like they cost more than they did. They seem good quality with clean lines. I bought the cupboard knobs in this style too which I would recommend- if you have thick cupboard doors so need a fixing longer than the 4M 4cm, then I'd recommend the 4M snap off screws as that's all I could find in the 4M longer than 4cm after visiting screw fix etc. Anyway, I like this company and providing they keep their prices low I'd certainly use again.

Beautiful and a high quality knobs but the screw are unusable. I had to buy new ones in order to complete the job.

Really good quality. Whilst these are advertised to be used for rim locks as well they are not technically correct. Once you remove the rose plate you are left with an exposed grub screw. Originals would have had a fixed knob without a grub so that it fixed flush to the rim lock. Maybe I am being harsh to criticise at this price but if they could replicate that then they would be perfect! For a mortise lock they are the best value and quality that I have seen on the Internet and would buy again.

I have a Victorian house and decided to replace the ceramic door knobs on all 12 doors as they were in a poor state and ill fitting. I had a problem that many of the door handles had a rim lock on one side. I decided to purchase the large beehive knobs and behive keyhole covers from the Coventry Demolition Company - I ordered on Friday and they were delivered on Monday. Excellent quality and nicely wrapped. I had to use reduced length screws than those delivered due to the size of my doors but this was not a problem. The knobs fitted easily to the rim lock side and I just needed to discard the back plate. I also ordered the matching beehive keyhole covers and they look super. In summary I am very pleased and would recommend the supplier, the beehive knobs and beehive keyhole covers.

Lovely quality, just what I was looking for as we renovate our Victorian terrace. Lovely weight and finish. Screws supplied with the knobs aren't great and item arrived with quite a strange smell - perhaps either from being stored or perhaps the finish to the wood but has disappeared now they are in use! The perfect doorknobs for a late nineteenth century house. They match some of the originals. Couple that with a good price and a quick delivery and you couldn't ask for more. I've bought three pairs in two designs.

Ordered 5 number of these sets. Lovely handles and excellent value. The screws are a bit flimsy so had to replace these and the ebony stain does come off in your hand for the first while of usung, but excellent product for cost.

We are refurbishing a 1873 house and these handles are perfect they are excellent quality and perfect for the period of house and also look expensive, great handles all my doors will have them eventually.

Just what we were looking for. Beautiful handles, beautifully made and at an excellent price. If there is one (tiny) complaint, the screws supplied to fit the handle to the door are of relatively poor quality and can sheer easily, but still 5 star.

I ordered these having spent £30+ on other pairs of door knobs for my house. Given the low price, I was expecting them to look a bit cheap and for the brass to need a bit of assistance to look aged. I was delighted when they arrived (very quickly!) and were just as good as the more expensive knobs. I highly recommend them.

Excellent service received within two days of placing order well packed and when opened better than expected in a1 condition (ordered a radiator from a very large DIY store at the same time despite promises for Friday delivery after waiting in all day it never arrived) point for me is use these specialist dealers more as they do do what it says on the tin.

We've ordered three times now from Coventry through the site. Each time the product has been great quality and brilliant value compared with elsewhere, and always delivered within a couple of days of the order going in. Very happy.

These door knobs are lovely - feel heavy and solid, and good quality. I have fitted them onto my Victorian pitch pine doors and they look great! It would also be useful if the company ever does a patterened baseplate.

I agree with the previous comment (from Lily, below) who suggested a guide to 'how to fit a door knob' would be useful - it appears very straight forward, but it can be fiddly, and silly wee things can make the process more difficult than need be.

One final comment, my door knobs were left propped up on the front door by the delivery company and I found them there when I returned from work. Thankfully, no-one had walked off with them, but this might not have been the case. I'd have preferred if the parcel had been put somewhere more discrete and a card put through my door to let me know.

I cannot recommend too highly. I am really delighted with my door knobs - very high quality at a bargain price; it took me a while, though, to work out that the allen key supplied is used to release the knob from the spindle and subsequently for fine adjustment when fitting. There were some complications around delivery initially but the company could not have been more helpful in communicating with me, resolving the difficulty and ensuring I received my order as quickly as possible.......thank you.

Lovely product, good finish and brass rim dulling down nicely (hard to find brass finishes which aren't too "bling"). It is useful to note that these door handles are unsprung. Not a big deal but I changed them out for ones which were sprung and we are all getting used to these ones.
I have only given 4 stars as it would have been useful to have at least a brief instruction leaflet on best practice for installing these. I am "handy" but not a DIY expert in all areas.

I have just taken delivery of four sets - I'm more than pleased, just had to fit two sets straight away! They feel good, look absolutely authentic... knocks anything that I have seen in large chain hardware shops into total dismissal! I'm now thinking what else should I order... maybe I should have ordered those keyhole covers to match....
